What is Va La

Va La is a small farm in Avondale, Chester County,
consisting of a hillside cellar, seven acres of vines,
and one family devoted to each other,
and to the creation of unusual little wines.

Our name Va La, is in recognition of the tiny village in northern italy called Giusvalla,
population 400, from which our family immigrated.
The phrase ‘va la’ translates to “go there” in proper Italian. In our dialect
it was simply used when you wanted to tell someone to “piss off”.
